The oldest Christian church, that was used as a place of worship between 33 AD and 70 AD, was discovered under the ruins of the church of St. George in Rihab northern Jordan.
Remants of tiled floors enriched with Greek writings reflect the language of early Christianity, that of Hellenistic Greek.
The tiled floor hides a complex of caves and catacombs that were used by these early Christians for worship and sanctuary.
